US and Uk Film Comparison: Intro:
It was with a great deal of hard work, hours on the internet, revising, revising the page some more, and having dully realised the reality that I had been reading the same sentence over and over again- but finally the day is here. The day that I share to you, dear reader, the two films that will be close to my heart for the remainder of the year as I scavenge all the information on these two films so as in the hope to aid me in my A-Level Media Studies.

My British Film:
DIANA (Distributed by Entertainment One UK):
I am very pleased with the two films I have chosen. As you can see I have selected these films in particular for not only are they very different from one another, but they are also likely to gain the same amount of success as well as popularity. Arguably there will be many comparisons as well as differences.
I will now keep you regularly updated on the 'course' of these two films and how the will voyage from production, all the way up to the release of both films.
US and UK film Comparison: The Posters:
Diana (Poster 1):
The sell/ Plug Line 'The Legend is never a real story' reveals to us, as a reader, that the films is specifically directed towards the audience whom were aware of the distinguished figure that was Diana through the 80s and 90s. the sell line almost suggest that you need to know much about her already so as to understand the specific point in her life of which the film aims to capture.
to add the crown above the masthead of Dianna, not only associates her with royalty, but also signifies that she is the mother of future king William, and grandmother to Prince George. The close connection of Dianna being with her son and grandson (especially there being no coincidence that prince William and Kate Middleton would happen to have the future air to the throne on the same year) is a rather clever idea for the majority of the country will at the moment be feeling rather patriotic, with a the jubilee and Olympics having been and gone, as well as the birth of the prince, and what is most important to the film, a in depth film on an idol so dearly loved by many.
Film Company: Ecosse Films:
Ecosse Films is a British film and television production company based in London.
Their first production was the 1997 film Mrs. Brown, starring Judi Dench as Queen Victoria and Billy Connolly as her servant John Brown. Their most successful television production to date has been Monarch of the Glen, produced for BBC Scotland and screened on BBC One, which ran to seven series and chronicled events on a Scottish estate. Between 2008 and 2010 they have produced the BBC One hit series Mistresses.
Ecosse's international drama, Camelot, a 10 part series written by Michael Hurst and Chris Chibnall for Starz Channel and Channel 4 transmitted in 2011. It stars Joseph Fiennes, Jamie Campbell Bower, Tamsin Egerton and Eva Green. Ecosse has also produced RTE's hit series Raw, set in a hip Dublin restaurant, with a fourth series currently in production.
Ecosse has achieved international success with several films; Charlotte Gray starring Cate Blanchett, Becoming Jane starring Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy, and Brideshead Revisited. The BAFTA nominated film Nowhere Boy, the teenage biopic of John Lennon directed by Sam Taylor-Wood premiered at the London Film Festival in 2009.
In 2011, Ecosse released The Decoy Bride, a romantic comedy about a famous celebrity wedding on a remote Scottish island and a local girl recruited to act as a decoy bride. Directed by Sheree Folkson, it starred David Tennant, Alice Eve and Kelly Macdonald. That same year they released Wuthering Heights directed by Andrea Arnold and starring Kaya Scodelario as Catherine Earnshaw and newcomer James Howson as Heathcliff. The world premiere is in competition at the 68th Venice International Film Festival.
Ecosse's core team includes founder Douglas Rae who remains executive-producer on all of Ecosse's films, company director and producer Robert Bernstein, and film development producer Matt Delargy.
